The Rev. Daniel Hess
Pastor Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Bridgewater College as well as a Master of Divinity from United Lutheran Seminary. Daniel grew up in Hanover, VA, and his sister, brother-in-law, and parents still live in the Richmond area. He served his first call as Pastor in the Virginia Synod, ELCA at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Marion, VA. Most recently, Pastor Daniel has served as Interim Pastor at Bethel Lutheran Church in Edinburg, VA. Pastor Daniel now combines his experience in parish and interim ministry with his love for people, their stories, and connecting with the community.
Both Pastors Sarah and Daniel served their internship year together at the Rural Retreat Lutheran Parish and Walker Mountain Lutheran Parish from 2018-2019. They together served five churches across two parishes and found a love for team ministry and working together!
In his free time, Daniel can be found outside with his two rescue dogs, Max and Luna. If not with the dogs, Daniel can be found in the garden, bird watching, or cooking.
