Companions for the Journey

Companions for the Journey is a small group ministry designed to help grow an individual’s relationship with God independently and in community. The role of “companions” is to support and assist each other as we love, serve, learn and grow together in Christ.

Through prayer and discernment, sharing ideas and experiences, common threads become apparent and core values emerge within this circle of companionship. Companions for the Journey provides opportunities for spiritual formation such as Walks Together and special programming. Walks allow time for discussion and fellowship as well as time for reflection and meditation. Other endeavors include centering prayer groups, prayer partners and contemplative worship. Participants have experienced the work of the Holy Spirit within the creative synergy of this community and all are welcome.

Trinity's Lenten Prayer Devotional

Lent marks the forty days leading up to Easter, mirroring the forty days Jesus spent in the wilderness. It is a practice that began during the 4th century to prepare Christians for the holiest days of the year.
Many people practice Lent by giving something up or by taking up something new. Together, we’re going to pray through the days of this Lenten season.

This devotional includes a daily scripture reading and a prayer written by a member of Trinity’s community for each of the days of Lent beginning with Ash Wednesday and continuing through Easter Sunday. Whether you are practicing Lent solo or using this devotional around the dinner table with others we invite you to grab your Bible to accompany each day.

Special thanks to Lee Anne DeMonbreum for helping to coordinate this Lenten devotional.

We hope this devotional offers a moment to pause, a time to pray, and a place to reflect on your journey through Lent.
